Joining a Day Treatment Program for Addiction Treatment in Minnesota
June 18, 2008
Recently, the day treatment program in Minnesota has become quite popular. This is an addiction treatment program that is loosely based on the lines of the outpatient treatment program. Actually speaking, the day treatment program is an outpatient tm program. Here the patient is made to attend treatment sessions on a daily basis for a duration of three to four hours each. Some centers for drug addiction treatment in Minnesota run day treatment programs that go on for just five days a week, keeping the weekends free.
There are many aspects to the treatment in a day treatment center in Minnesota. One of the main things is to counsel the patient for emotional issues that may have a direct role to play in the addiction of the patient. A psychiatric counseling may also be required. The intention here is to strengthen the person’s mind so that he or she can understand what the addiction is all about and can make the necessary efforts to stay away from the addiction.
Group education programs also form a part of the day drug tm program in Minnesota. Here, a group of six to twelve people are educated by the treatment provider on various aspects of the addiction. Behavioral therapies can also be implemented, especially motivational counseling and cognitive behavioral therapy. The patients are analyzed for their progress at recovery and the better performing patients are provided with points that enable them to qualify for gifts later on.
There is also a need to include the family into the treatment program. This is important because the patient continues living with the family. The family is coached on coping with the addiction and becoming a constructive force in the treatment of the patient.
